Charles Stuart Calverley (December 22, 1831 - February 17, 1884) was an English poet and wit. He was a literary father of what has been known as "the university school of humour".
He was natural at Martley, Worcestershire, and given a title Charles Stuart Blayds. Within 1852, his father, the Rpm. Henry Blayds, resumed a old surname of Calverley, which his granddaddy got exchanged for Blayds within 1807.
